Waiting on Hope

                                        “Waiting on Hope”

“Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a desire fulfilled is a tree of life"                                                                                                     Proverbs 13:12

During this unprecedented time in history, as Christians, our heart’s desire should be to remain a source of hope, encouragement, and prayer for others. Standing together, united in the hope of a real God who is ever present in our lives, knowing our needs, and powerful to defeat anything that comes against us, His children!

Having received these unshakeable truths, we stop to ask ourselves, “am I ready? Am I in a place to live out this verse?” --“be ready to give an answer to others of the hope that is within me, with gentleness and respect.”1Pet. 3:15

That’s not a “suggestion” but an “obligation” as a Christian!

There is a continual struggle right now. I’ve heard the statement several times, “things just got real!” It’s scary to watch the news. Such chaos and emotions and questions…so many questions. Why God? Why are you letting us go through this?

No doubt that people are losing their hope!

“When we are in a desperate time of need for answers, relief, security…HOPE, but it seems like it’s not coming; it is easy to fall into a pit of depression, doubt, hopelessness. We are so programmed to expect immediate answers and results that we give up and give in way too soon.

But here’s the thing,  please be encouraged. God is not deaf, but hears our prayers, sees our struggles, and desperately loves us. Remember the last part of the verse in Proverbs…”when our hope is strengthened, our desires are met.”

We are each responsible to encourage our self and strengthen our hope. And we can start doing that by praying that God will take captive any thoughts we are experiencing that lead us away from Him. Practice “renewing our minds” everyday so that yesterday’s hurts will not take root growing into today’s anger.

This is not an easy process, it is work, that is true, but prayerfully looking for the good, remembering the blessings, devouring God’s Word will be worth it! We can live out a true example of “…the world will know that we are Christians by the love we have for one another.” John 13.35  Showing a lost world the love of Christ within us is manifested through acts of kindness for others, and sharing the Good News from a Loving Heavenly Father.

Please be encouraged. God is not deaf, but hears our prayers, sees our struggles, and desperately loves us. Remember the last part of the verse in Proverbs…”when our hope is strengthened, our desires are met.”

So……….are you ready to give an answer of the HOPE that within you?

People are waiting…seeking…needing...dying to hear your answer.
