Continue ShoppingWith Father’s Day coming in a few days, I thought this personal story would be appropriate to share. While some will enjoy this Father’s Day with warm wishes, family gatherings, and celebrations; there will be others who will experience sadness, anger, and regret.
I’m sorry to admit that I’m in that last category.
But wait…this is not going to be a tearful rendition of a life missing out on the love, comfort, and protection of a father. It is truth, my truth, that there is someone who loves me unconditionally, watches over me and protects me with unwavering power.
”He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, in Him will I trust.” Psalm 91
When I was a young wife and mother, rejecting the gospel was an easy decision. I heard the words, “God wants to be and will be your loving father. Just trust in and accept him.” Lacking a desperately needed earthly father made it hard to trust in a Godly Father.
But, as God pursued me and lovingly led me to him, I humbly and graciously accepted him. It wasn’t until as I lived out my life, that I began realizing that He has brought so many sweet and Godly “daddy figures” along the way as gentle mentors.
Our Heavenly Father is so loving to his children. May this Father’s Day and each day, that our focus is on our Heavenly Father who loves us so much….today, tomorrow, and all eternity!
“We have received the honor of calling out to God, Abba Father”! (Daddy) Romans 8:15
